Midnight Cruiser Band - More Rhythm, Fewer Blues

Meet the Band

Midnight Cruiser are Joel , Paul, Roger and Blue, a dynamic blues and rock band from the South of England, Midnight Cruiser delivers a lively mix of songs that will make you tap your feet and dance with joy.

Each of us has many years experience gigging all over the UK and have now come together to play the music we love.

A band performing energetically in a dimly lit venue. The musicians are playing electric guitars and a drum set, with long hair moving as they play passionately. The atmosphere is intimate, with low lighting and a rustic decor, featuring wooden elements and a large decorative wall piece in the background.

Roger -Drummer

The “man at the back” making all the noise is Roger, who has been with the Cruisers since the restructuring of the band. Roger has been drumming since his very early teens, and was taught for some time by a local drummer who subsequently went on to play with Emile Ford & the Checkmates.

His semi pro career started with local bands in the 60’s, playing Beatles / Rolling Stones and other covers. He subsequently played with Organ-drums combos, Jazz Trios, and small {8–9 piece} dance bands. After a period of absence caused by work commitments, he returned to drumming with a vengeance, joining the “Northern All-Stars Orchestra” one of the premier 18-piece dance bands in the North West at that time.

After the All-Stars disbanded, he went on to play with a Manchester based smaller dance band, playing prestigious gigs such as Civic Balls, Masonic Functions etc. Work commitments forced Roger to leave this band, however, he was able to join a local Blues Band, who then went on to become one of the most popular in The Potteries area, making and selling CD’s as well as performing at festivals as well as local pubs. Following his move to Mere, Ron eventually found Midnight Cruiser, and the rest is history.

Paul -Lead Guitar and Vocals

Our Lead Guitarist Paul prides himself on a dedicated approach to his playing, whatever the style. Paul loves playing in a tight unit, blending his sense of fun with a professional attitude, all of which makes The Rebbels a perfect fit for him He has played locally with, amongst others, The New Satellites, Lucy Blue, The Badger Blues Band (as a founder member) and 700 Feet backing local star vocalist, Samantha.

For more years than he cares to remember, he was a member of the Badger Poets, a performance poetry and music group which reached the dizzying heights of the Isle of Man festival. He still has his original early 60s Watkins Westminster amp, but sadly his first electric guitar, a Futurama Duo Deluxe is long gone.

Peter currently plays his Fender Stratocaster and PRS SE guitars through a Roland Blues Cube Amplifier via several effects pedals.
